Tony Award nominee Lily Rabe, who will return to the New York stage this summer as part of Shakespeare in the Park, has lined up two screen projects.
Last seen in the hit Ryan Murphy series "American Horror Story: Coven," Rabe will next appear in the ABC television pilot "The Visitors," according to Deadline.com. The drama, penned by Soo Hugh, casts Rabe as an FBI agent and single mother who finds herself in a race against the clock as the world faces an unseen alien enemy that could destroy the earth.
Rabe has also signed on for the new horror film "The Veil." The Hollywood Reporter states that the microbudget thriller centers on the members of a religious cult who take their own lives. Years later, a woman (to be played by Rabe) who was a child when the deaths occurred, returns to make a documentary film about the event and makes a terrifying discovery.
Phil Joanou will direct "The Veil," which will also include Thomas Jane and Jessica Alba. It is written by Robert Ben Garant.
Rabe is a Tony Award nominee for The Merchant of Venice. Her Broadway credits also include Seminar, The American Plan, Heartbreak House and Steel Magnolias. Rabe is also set to appear in the upcoming "Hunger Games" film, as well as the Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park production of Much Ado About Nothing.
