By Andrew Gans
Tony Award winner Julie White, who was most recently on Broadway in the Tony-winning Christopher Durang play Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, has been cast in the new CBS pilot "Save The Date," according to Deadline.com.
The romantic comedy will co-star Michelle Trachtenberg and Maggie Lawson and will also feature Tom Bennett.
Writers are Jackie and Jeff Filgo.
"Save The Date," according to Deadline, centers on "35-year-old and newly single Kate (Lawson), who drunkenly books a wedding venue and now is faced with the task of meeting the right man in time. Trachtenberg will play Hillary, Katie’s buttoned-down, no-nonsense sister who is sharing an apartment with her. Bennett plays Roger, Hillary’s boyfriend of four years. White plays Connie, Katie and Hillary’s mother."
White won her Tony Award for her performance in the 2006 comedy The Little Dog Laughed.
