York Theatre Company Will Present Readings of Storm and God's Country
By Andrew Gans
Details have been announced for two readings that are part of The York Theatre's Company Developmental Reading Series: Storm, written and directed by P.J. Barry; and God's Country, which features book and lyrics by Erik Johnke and music by Elaine Chelton.
Both readings take place at The York Theatre Company’s home at Saint Peter’s, entrance on East 54th Street, east of Lexington Avenue.
Details for the two readings follow.
"September 21, 1938. An unexpected hurricane hits New England devastating the Rhode Island coastline: A marriage stumbles. An ex-wife invades. A car stalls, the rain comes, the wind blows, a tidal wave smashes."

"It’s 1871. Wealthy Englishman James Watson’s world is shattered by his mother’s death and the revelation that he is adopted and Irish. Discovering his birth mother lives in America, he travels there on an epic journey to find his true identity. Sweeping melodies with Irish flavor carry this dynamic tale. God’s Country was performed at the New York Musical Theatre Festival in July 2013."
Reservations for both presentations can be made online at www.yorktheatre.org; a $5 suggested donation with each reservation is suggested.
