Brett Ryback Premieres Songs I Wrote at 54 Below With Lesli Margherita, Melissa van der Schyff and More

Actor, composer and writer Brett Ryback premieres new songs at 54 Below in Songs I Wrote, featuring his work as a composer-lyricist, April 19. Olivier Award winner Lesli Margherita and Melissa van der Schyff are among the evening's lineup.



At the 11 PM concert, Ryback, who currently stars in Off-Broadway's Murder for Two, presents highlights from his eclectic songbook, including the premiere performances of work from his current musical-in-progress, Joe Schmoe Saves the World.

Directed by Brendan Naylor, performers include Margherita (Matilda), Julia Mattison (Godspell), Alex Brightman (Big Fish, Wicked), Janet Krupin (If/Then, Bring it On), Justin Matthew Sargent (Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark), Mary Kate Morrissey (Hair national tour), Dakin Matthews (Rocky), Claybourne Elder (Bonnie and Clyde), Van der Schyff (Bonnie and Clyde) and Aaron Albert. 

Ryback wrote the book for the Ryan Scott Oliver-scored musical Darling, which won the Weston Playhouse's New Musical Award and was featured on NBC's "The Apprentice." He won the Tennessee Williams One-Act Competition and was a Finalist for the Richard Rodgers Award. His musical Liberty Inn: The Musical was nominated for two L.A. Ovation Awards (Best Music/Lyrics and Best Book).
