The new Michael Roberts musical Greed, which officially opened Off-Broadway April 3 at New World Stages, ends its run April 19.

Written by Roberts and directed by Christopher Scott with music direction and arrangements by Steven Gross, the open-ended production began previews March 19 at New World Stages/Stage 2.

The cast features Avenue Q Tony nominee Stephanie D'Abruzzo with Julia Burrows, Neal Mayer and James Donegan.

"What do Jamie Dimon, Lance Armstrong, Pope Francis and Bernie Madoff have in common?" press notes ask. "They all appear in Greed: A Musical for Our Times... Greed's musical comedy targets range from Ponzi schemes to the not so subtle sales pitches of retirement planners and mortgage bundlers." Song titles include “A Little Juice,” “Inside Information,” “I'll Cheat On My Taxes” and “The Ballad of Jamie Dimon."

The production also has scenic design by Josh Iacovelli, lighting design by Joan Racho-Jansen, costume design by Dustin Cross, sound design by Raymond D. Schilke and casting by Stephanie Klapper Casting. The production stage manager is Kevin Greene.

Roberts is the author, composer and lyricist of the musicals Golf: The Musical and The Fartiste, which played Off-Broadway during the 2011-12 season and won the 2006 FringeNYC Best Musical Award.
