By Andrew Gans
Betty Garrett, who starred as Hattie Walker in the recent Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim's Follies, will make a guest appearance on the Feb. 10 broadcast of "Boston Public." In the 2001 revival of Follies directed by Matthew Warchus, Betty Garrett delivered the Sondheim show-stopper "Broadway Baby." Garrett has appeared in several other Broadway productions, including Something for the Boys, where she understudied Ethel Merman, as well as Jackpot; Call Me Mister; Laffing Room Only; Beg, Borrow or Steal; A Girl Could Get Lucky; Supporting Cast; Spoon River; and Meet Me in St. Louis. On the silver screen, she starred in "On the Town," "Take Me Out to the Ballgame," "Neptune's Daughter," "Words and Music" and "My Sister Eileen," and her TV work includes "All in the Family" and "Laverne and Shirley." Garrett's autobiography, "Betty Garrett and Other Songs," is available in bookstores. "Boston Public" airs in the metropolitan area on FOX-TV (Channel 5) from 8 to 9 PM ET. Check local listings. |
