Hairspray’s Marissa Jaret Winokur to Co-Host The View

Marissa Jaret Winokur, who heads the cast of Broadway’s Hairspray, will be the guest co-host of the April 10 broadcast of “The View.”

Winokur, who stars as Tracy Turnblad in the hit musical at the Neil Simon Theatre, will join Barbara Walters, Meredith Viera, Star Jones and Joy Behar on the ABC-TV morning talk show. Guests for the April 10 airing include Marisa Tomei, soon to open on Broadway in Salome, as well as the stars of the film “A Mighty Wind”: Eugene Levy, Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer.

Marissa Jaret Winokur starred in the hit revival of Grease! as well as the L.A. Reprise! production of Hair. She is probably best known, however, for her role as Janine in the Oscar-winning film “American Beauty.” Winokur has also been seen in “Teaching Mrs. Tingle,” “Never Been Kissed,” “Scary Movie,” “Dharma & Greg,” “Moesha,” “Just Shoot Me,” “Boston Public,” “The Ellen Show,” “Felicity,” “Nikki,” “Steve Harvey,” “Get Real” and “Curb: Your Enthusiasm.” Hairspray plays the Neil Simon Theatre, 250 West 52nd Street.
