TDF Announces Captioned or Signed Performances for Wicked, Lion King, Never Gonna Dance and More

Theatre Development Fund has announced upcoming dates for Broadway performances that will be captioned and sign-language-interpreted for theatregoers who are deaf or hard of hearing. The assisted performances are part of TDF's Theatre Access Project (TAP), billed as an "invitation to the performing arts for people with physical disabilities." TAP regularly serves theatregoers with mild to severe hearing loss through open-captioned and sign-language interpreted performances of Broadway and Off Broadway shows. In addition, special discount tickets in the orchestra are set aside monthly for theatregoers who are deaf or hard of hearing, partially sighted, blind, require aisle seating for medical reasons, use wheelchairs or cannot climb stairs. Theatregoers with disabilities may join TAP's mailing list which includes ticket offers to open captioned and sign language interpreted performances, where the seat locations are in view of either the open caption box or sign language interpreters.
