Isn't It Romance? Mamet's New Play Will Bow at Atlantic in 2005, Replacing Dr. Faustus
By Kenneth Jones
Atlantic Theater Company, the Off-Broadway troupe co-founded by David Mamet, will stage the world premiere of Mamet's Romance in February 2005. Mamet's plays include Glengarry Glen Ross, Edmond, Speed-the-Plow, Sexual Perversity in Chicago, American Buffalo and the recent Boston Marriage. Romance replaces Mamet's Dr. Faustus on the 2004-05 slate, which also features the playwrights Woody Allen, Anton Chekhov, Tom Donaghy, Tina Howe and Eugene Ionesco. The New York Times reported Dr. Faustus will play a future season. For more information about the Atlantic season, visit www.atlantictheater.org. |
