Detroit's Theatre Co. Has Moonlight Room, Cycling Past the Matterhorn, A Patch of Earth in 2004-05

The Theatre Company, the respected hybrid troupe that mixes professionals and undergrads at The University of Detroit Mercy, will stage three Michigan premieres in its 2004-05 season. The UDM troupe is regularly reviewed in Detroit newspapers and is known for introducing Michigan audiences to writers such as Jane Martin (Talking With). Also announced for the company's 2004-05 season is the Michigan premiere of The Moonlight Room, Tristine Skyler's Off-Broadway play about young people waiting in a hospital E.R.'s reception room. Yolanda Fleischer will directs Oct. 7-24. The Michigan premiere of Kitty Felde's A Patch of Earth, directed by Arthur J. Beer, plays Feb. 3-13, 2005. The drama concerns a Croatian man, Drazen Erdemovic, who took part in the massacre of 8,000 Muslim men and boys outside of Srebrenica. He fought in the Bosnian-Serb army and became the first person to be sentenced by the International Criminal Tribunal of the Former Yugoslavia. In spring 2005, Stephen Schwartz's Godspell will be presented in a co-production between The Theatre Company and Marygrove College. All shows are performed at the Marygrove College Theatre.
