Actor Ed Harris will make his Broadway directorial debut with the Roundabout Theatre Company's forthcoming revival of Sam Shepard’s Fool for Love a little later than expected.

Fool for Love will begin its limited run at the American Airlines Theatre on Jan. 19, 2005, rather than the expected Jan. 14. The first staging of the work on Broadway will officially open Feb. 10 for a run currently slated through April 3, 2005.

Harris earned an Obie Award for originating the role of Eddie in the Shepard work during its Off-Broadway debut at the Douglas Fairbanks Theatre in 1983. Kathy Baker starred opposite Harris under the direction of the playwright. Ellen Barkin and Bruce Willis were among the replacement players in that production, which lasted 1,000 performances before closing in 1985.

Fool for Love focuses on a chance meeting between two former lovers at a seedy motel near the Mojave Desert. As the story unravels, we learn that it may be more than just a chance encounter, and they may be more than just lovers.
