Robert Goulet May Tour With Broadway Revival of La Cage aux Folles

Producers James L. Nederlander and Marty Richards said backstage at the Tony Awards that Robert Goulet has expressed a willingness to tour with the current Broadway revival of Jerry Herman’s La Cage aux Folles.

The Jerry Zaks-directed revival won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical.

Goulet joined the show after Daniel Davis, the production’s original star, was dismissed. He co-stars with Gary Beach, who was nominated for a Tony. The producers did not reveal any details or say whether the $8.5 million show would definitely tour.

Goulet is a Broadway legend who starred in the original production of Camelot.
