Mambo Kings' Camil Joins Latinologues Dec. 6

Jaime Camil, who starred in the out-of-town tryouts of the new musical The Mambo Kings, joins the cast of Latinologues Dec. 6. Camil will stay with Latinologues through the end of its limited engagement at the Helen Hayes Theatre, which was recently extended to Dec. 31. Latinologues — created and written by Rick Najera — is a collection of monologues about the Latino experience in America. The Broadway company also features Najera, Eugenio Derbez, Rene Lavan and Shirley A. Rumierk. Cheech Marin directs. Jaime Camil has been seen in such films as "7 Dias" and "Zapata" as well as the soap operas "Mi Destino Eres Tu" and "Mujer de Madera." He is also a recording artist with two platinum albums: "Para Estar Contigo" and "Una Vez Mas." Camil also won acclaim for his performance as Bernardo in a production of West Side Story in Mexico. Latinologues plays Tuesday-Friday evenings at 8 PM, Saturdays at 5 and 9 PM and Sundays at 3 and 7 PM. Tickets are available by calling (212) 239-6200.
