Stage star Christine Ebersole (Steel Magnolias) is currently leading the cast of the new musical Grey Gardens through its preview period at New York's Playwrights Horizons, with an opening night set for March 7.

The show, which features music by Scott Frankel, lyrics by Michael Korie and a book by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Doug Wright (I Am My Own Wife), is based on a 1975 film of the same name by the Maysles Brothers about the "eccentric aunt and cousin of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis who are East Hampton's most notorious recluses," according to production notes. Michael Grief (Rent) directs.

At left and below, Ebersole and cast members Bob Stillman, Audrey Twitchell, Sarah Hyland, John McMartin, Michael Potts and Sara Gettelfinger are seen in various scenes from the production.
