The creative team for Starmites comprises Frederick Willard (musical director), Jerry Jean (associate musical director), Cary McCray (assistant director), Chuck Ragsdale (production designer) and Michael Raine (choreographer). "Shy teenager Eleanor," read Starmites press notes, "is mysteriously thrust into the Website World of her favorite comic book and becomes Milady, teen superhero, who must lead the Starmites, guardian angels of Innerspace, on their Quest to save the Galaxy. With the help of hip-hop heartthrob, Space Punk, Eleanor learns to own up to her inner power, defeating her foes and conquering evil." Alix Korey was most recently on Broadway in the Elvis Presley-inspired musical All Shook Up, and her other Main Stem credits include Chicago, 45 Seconds From Broadway, An Evening with Jerry Herman, Triumph of Love, Chicago, Ain't Broadway Grand, The Pirates of Penzance and the 1978 revival of Hello, Dolly!, her Broadway debut. Korey received the Drama League Award for her work in Off-Broadway's Suburb, a Drama Desk nomination for her performance in The Wild Party and an Outer Critics Circle nomination for her role in No Way to Treat a Lady. Her screen work includes "Anything But Love," "Dummy," "Beauty and the Beast," "Aladdin" and "Pocahontas." Korey's solo recordings are titled "Songs You Might Have Missed" and "Gifts of Love." Starmites originated Off-Broadway and moved to Broadway in the 1988-89 season. It was nominated for a Best Musical Tony Award that year.
