Milner and Want Join Cast of London Evita Revival
By Andrew Gans
Lorna Want and Gary Milner will be part of the upcoming West End revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Evita. Michael Grandage’s highly anticipated production will begin previews at London's Adelphi Theatre June 2, with an official opening night set for June 21. The creative team also includes Christopher Oram (design) and Rob Ashford (choreography). This will be the first major West End revival of the musical since Evita premiered at the Prince Edward Theatre in 1978. Hal Prince’s production made a London star out of Elaine Paige and a Broadway star out of Patti LuPone. Madonna starred in Alan Parker’s 1996 movie version. Lorna Want has appeared onstage in Footloose and Romeo and Juliet. Her TV credits include "I Dream," "Holby City" and "Doctors." Gary Wilner's theatre credits include Scrooge, Pickwick, Jolson, Doctor Dolittle, Spend Spend Spend, Chicago, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Anything Goes. He was also seen on television in "Murphy's Law." |
