When it closes, the production will have played 8 previews and 341 regular performances.
After opening Oct. 26, 2010, at the Neil Simon theatre for a 13-week limited engagement, the show re-opened by popular demand at the Brooks Atkinson theatre Feb. 8, 2011.
"When we originally opened Rain at the Neil Simon we were thrilled for the chance to share this successful touring show with the Broadway community,” producer Jeff Parry said in a statement. “The opportunity to move theatres and continue playing for an additional seven months at the Brooks Atkinson has exceeded our wildest expectations. It’s been an incredible journey and we look forward to continuing the North American tour of Rain as well as launching international engagements in Singapore and Johannesburg this summer.”
Winner of the 2011 Drama Desk for Outstanding Revue, Rain currently stars its original creators Joey Curatolo (vocals, bass, guitar, piano), Joe Bithorn (vocals, lead guitar, guitar synthesizer), Ralph Castelli (vocals, drums, percussion) and Steve Landes (vocals, guitar, piano, harmonica).
