Tony Award winner Ralph Fiennes will star in the new film "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy," penned by Tony-nominated Frost/Nixon playwright Peter Morgan, according to Variety.
Fiennes, who earned a Tony for Hamlet and an Academy Award nomination for "The English Patient," will be featured alongside Colin Firth, Gary Oldman and Michael Fassbender.
Tomas Alfredson will direct the film that is based on the John Le Carre novel of the same title about clandestine affairs within the British Secret Intelligence Service set against the backdrop of the Cold War.
Morgan received an Academy Award nomination for the screenplays to "Frost/Nixon" and "The Queen," which earned the Golden Globe for Best Screenplay.
"Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" will begin filming in London this October.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
