Directed by Jerry Dixon ( Once on This Island; tick, tick… BOOM!), Cantone—who is featured in the title role—and Bartlett are joined by Tony nominee Mary Testa ( On the Town), Iris Elton, Taylor Negron, Michael Arnold ( South Pacific), Deidre Goodwin ( A Chorus Line), Andrea Dora ( Tarzan), Raun Ruffin ( The Civil War), Pearl Sun ( Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!), Chris Vaughn and Sasha Weiss.

The new musical, featuring music and lyrics by Walter Marks, is described as a "comic-tragedy" that chronicles the career of Bruce, who finds himself defending his "dirty little words" before his nemesis—God (Bartlett).

Matt Perri provides music direction. A workshop premiere of Dig Lenny Bruce is planned for this fall at the Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor.
