Renee Blinkwolt has been named the new managing director of Ars Nova.
Blinkwolt will take up the post Feb. 3, taking over for Jeremy Blocker, who was recently named managing director of New York Theatre Workshop.
Currently the producing director of the Playwrights Realm, Blinkwolt has also served as managing director of Naked Angels, general manager of Two River Theater Company and season producer of Ensemble Studio Theatre.
She holds an MFA in Producing and Theatre Management from Columbia University and a BFA from Carnegie-Mellon University.
"The search committee and the entire board couldn't be more thrilled that Renee is joining the Ars Nova team," Ars Nova co-founder and board president Jenny Steingart said in a statement. "We all immediately felt that Renee's talent and innovative ideas made her an ideal pairing for Jason. We are thrilled to see what they will do together and where she will help take the organization."
"I am honored to join the Ars Nova family of extraordinarily talented artists and passionate professionals," Blinkwolt added. "I have been a fan of the company's cutting edge work throughout its first ten years and I am thrilled to embark on the next decade of invention and growth together."
