Tracie Thoms, who was on Broadway earlier this season in Stick Fly, will be seen in the CBS pilot "Applebaum."
Thoms, according to her manager, will play the role of Kat.
In "Applebaum," which is written by Ayelet Waldman, Thoms plays "a former doctor, a loving mother and the loyal, supportive best friend of the lead character, Juliet," played by Rachel Lefevre.
Thoms was a series regular on "Cold Case," starred in the "Rent" movie and Quentin Tarantino's "Death Proof," and played Anne Hathaway's buddy in "The Devil Wears Prada." Her Broadway credits include Rent, The Drowning Crow and Stick Fly.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
