06 Mar 2014
Tony Award nominee Rufus Sewell will star in Richard LaGravenese's ("The Last 5 Years," "P.S. I Love You") drama pilot for ABC, according to Deadline.com.
The drama, which is untitled, is inspired by Dangerous Liaisons.
Set in New York, the story revolves around Philip Fitzgerald Julien (Sewell) and Margot Worth Cole, who are both powerful and wealthy socialites who play out their seduction through the manipulation of others.
Sewell has performed on Broadway in Translations and Rock 'n' Roll. His screen credits include "Hercules," "John Adams" and "The Pillars of the Earth."
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
