Riding The Midnight Express With Billy Hayes Will Play Limited Run Off-Broadway
20 Dec 2013
Billy Hayes, who wrote the best-selling novel "Midnight Express," upon which the Oscar-winning film of the same name was based, will go it solo in 2014 at the St. Luke's Theatre.
Directed by John Gould Rubin, Riding The Midnight Express With Billy Hayes will play the Off-Broadway venue Jan. 22-March 23, 2014. Opening is February 5.
Barbara Ligeti produces.
"For the first time on the live stage," press notes state, "Hayes recounts the five years he spent in a Turkish prison and his brazen escape. He reveals aspects of his adventures never before told, elaborates on many instances portrayed in the film version, and corrects some of the plot-lines and scenes that were fictionalized for the movie – especially the actual, true story of his harrowing, white-knuckle escape."
St. Luke's Theatre is located at 308 West 46th Street. For tickets and more information visit www.ridingthemidnightexpress.com.
