Sam Rockwell, who recently appeared on Broadway in A Behanding in Spokane, will co-star with fellow Broadway vet Ari Graynor and "Superbad" and "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" star Jonah Hill in the upcoming film comedy "The Sitter," according to digitalspy.com.
David Gordon Green will direct the film, which is currently shooting and scheduled for release in July 2011.
Hill will play a college dropout who is asked to babysit three rambunctious children. When he ends up buying drugs (Rockwell will play the dealer) to impress a girl (Ari Graynor), the deal goes around and he – and the kids – are chased around New York.
Rockwell appeared Off-Broadway in The Last Days of Judas Iscariot and Goose-Pimples, and onscreen in "Iron Man 2," "The Assassination of Jesse James…," "Frost/Nixon," "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" and "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," among others.
Graynor, who recently appeared Off-Broadway in Trust, has appeared on Broadway in The Little Dog Laughed and Brooklyn Boy.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
