Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man Aiming for Winter Off-Broadway Run

This winter, producer Matt Murphy will present the Off-Broadway world premiere of Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man, a new three-character comedy written by Murphy and Drama Desk Award winner Jim Brochu.

The play is based on the best-selling book by Dan Anderson and Maggie Berman that is currently featured in the Sony film "Hope Springs," starring Meryl Streep, Tommy Lee Jones and Steve Carell.

Dates, theatre, director, cast and designers will be announced shortly.

Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man, according to the producer, is a new "three-character comedy whose title says it all!  With the help of a hot yet unsuspecting model, best friends Dan and Maggie welcome audiences into a fun-filled, sex-filled world of foolproof moves, filter-free observations, and insider advice that could only be shared between the closest of companions: a woman and her gay best friend.  If you’re straight, come see what you’ve been missing.  If you’re gay, come see if we left anything out.  If you’re feeling frisky, just bring a date…you’ll both be glad you came!"

“Some of our best tips were picked up and perfected in New York, so we’re thrilled that this hilarious adaptation of our best-selling book will premiere Off-Broadway,” said authors and real-life best friends Dan Anderson (the gay man) and Maggie Berman (the straight woman) in a statement. “New York theatre is no place for amateurs, where the competition is, ahem, stiff.  If the audience has just a fraction of the fun watching the play as we did writing the book, it’ll be an utterly orgasmic success!”
