Spamalot's Clay Aiken Named Finalist on NBC's "The Apprentice"
14 May 2012
“American Idol” finalist Clay Aiken, who made his Broadway debut in Monty Python’s Spamalot, and comedian Arsenio Hall are the finalists on NBC's “Celebrity Apprentice.”
The winner, who will receive $250,000 for a charity of his choice, will be announced live on the May 20 broadcast. The reality series features celebrities competing in tasks around New York City for business mogul Donald Trump.
Stage and screen actors Debbie Gibson, Aubrey O'Day, Dee Snider and George Takei were also among this season’s contestants.
Aiken — who was bested by Ruben Studdard during the second season of "American Idol" — has gone on to sell more than six million albums, co-author a best-selling book ("Learning to Sing: Hearing the Music in Your Life") and play numerous sold-out concert tours. He was a focus of the short-lived Off-Broadway musical Idol: The Musical and has appeared on "Ed," "Saturday Night Live" and "Scrubs." Visit his page at the Playbill Vault.
