Playbill.com's new series features brief chats with Broadway actors commenting on their recent theatregoing experiences, what productions they are looking forward to and more. Here, we speak with Wonderland star Jose Llana.
What show recently impressed you? Chinglish. I'm always impressed by [playwright] David Henry Hwang but was completely blown away by [actress] Jennifer Lim.
What production are you most excited to see? Other Desert Cities, Peter and the Starcatcher and Newsies - all of which I missed the first time around.
What are your current/upcoming projects? Happily joining Ann Harada for her Christmas Eve concert again this month, and there are a few projects on hold for next year that I'm pretty excited about.
Jose Llana has been seen on Broadway in Wonderland (El Gato), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Chip Tolentino, Drama Desk Award), Flower Drum Song (Ta), Rent (Angel), Streetcorner Symphony (Jessie-Lee) and The King and I (Lun Tha) and Off-Broadway in Falling for Eve (Adam, York), On the Town (Gabey, Public) and Saturn Returns (Public). His regional credits include Martin Guerre (Guillaume, Guthrie), Ballad of Little Jo (Steppenwolf, Jefferson nom.) and Candide (Prince, Barrymore nom.).
