Synetic Theater has announced the complete lineup for its upcoming season.

The theatre, which was founded in 2001 by husband-and-wife team Paata and Irina Tsikurishvili, presents contemporary theatre that combines drama, text, movement, acrobatics, dance, film and original music.

The season will include an immersive production of The Island of Dr. Moreau, Beauty and the Beast, a wordless adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing and the dark comedy Hunting Cockroaches.

The season-at-a-glance follows.

The Island of Dr. Moreau
Sept. 10-Oct. 12
Directed by artistic director Paata Tsikurishvili

"Sometime in the future, a shipwrecked survivor is rescued to a remote island inhabited by the deranged Dr. Moreau and his "children" — experimental human-like animals or animal-like humans. This highly physical and immersive tale set to original and haunting music will create an intriguing and horrifying world to remember."

Beauty and the Beast
Dec. 3–Jan. 4, 2015
Created and directed by Ben Cunis

"Synetic nimble actors and innovative theatrical effects will recreate the darkness and sensuality of the original French fairytale. Synetic will transform this classic gothic romance into a visual dream full of wonder and mystery."

Much Ado About Nothing
Feb. 11-March 15
Directed by founding artistic director
Paata Tsikurishivili
"A confirmed bachelor Benedick and equally independent Beatrice will spar, court, and plot in Synetic's 11th wordless Shakespeare adaptation. Passionate, sexy and funny, Synetic's version of Much Ado About Nothing will explore the nature of courtship and romance."

Hunting Cockroaches
May 13-June 14
By Janusz Glowacki
Directed by guest artist Serge Seiden

"Hunting Cockroaches examines the plight of a pair of immigrant artists who were once successful in their countries. Struggling in their new culture, the couple reflect on their past experiences during a sleepless night in their Lower East Side apartment. Synetic co-founders Paata and Irina Tsikurishvili, immigrants themselves, star together for the first time since 2010 in this vibrant dark comedy."
