Ghostlight Records will record the original cast album of The Book of Mormon, the new Broadway musical from "South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Tony Award-winning Avenue Q writer Robert Lopez.

Dates for a recording session and in-store release for the CD have yet to be determined.

Grammy Award-winning Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight Records founder Kurt Deutsch is having a busy Broadway season. The Book of Mormon will be the fourth original Broadway score to be preserved on disc by his label during the 2010-2011 Broadway season.

Last fall Ghostlight released Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson and the company has already recorded Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown in January, with plans underway to preserve the score to Catch Me If You Can in mid-April. The company is also the U.S. distributor for the London cast album of Sister Act the Musical, which arrives on Broadway March 25.

The Book of Mormon has book, music and lyrics by Parker, Stone and Lopez. Parker co-directs with Tony Award nominee Casey Nicholaw (The Drowsy Chaperone, Spamalot), who also choreographs. Previews began Feb. 24 at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre.

The musical about two young Mormon missionaries who have their faith and sanity tested when they are sent across the world to spread the word of Joseph Smith to AIDS-ravaged Uganda will officially open March 24. Lead producers are Scott Rudin and Anne Garefino.
