West End musical theatre star Elaine Paige, most recently on Broadway in the acclaimed revival of Follies, will host and executive produce a new six-part series for Sky Arts TV beginning in May 2014.

"The Elaine Paige Show," according to press notes, will be a "unique inspirational glimpse into the fascinating world of musical theatre and combine a mix of songs, performance, and interviews, as Elaine is joined by a variety of guests from stage and screen."

The award-winning singing actress will be joined by stars from both the West End and Broadway. Guests will include Scarlett Strallen, Christine Andreas, Michael Feinstein, John Owen Jones, Hannah Waddingham and Leigh Zimmerman. Paige will also interview writers and directors, including Herbert Kretzmer and Trevor Nunn, among others.

In a statement Paige said, “I’m delighted to be working with Sky Arts and Fresh One Production, in this my 50th year on stage, to bring my passion for musical theatre to television. I look forward to welcoming some of my friends and colleagues to the show and singing not only some new songs, but some of my all-time classics.”

The 60-minute television program will open and close with a performance by Paige. For each episode, the Cats and Evita star will mentor an actor from a musical theatre college in the U.K.
