The Freeman Studio in Manhattan presents a panel discussion with Mark Wing-Davey, the chair of Graduate Acting at New York University, Feb. 22 at 6 PM.
The discussion, which is entitled Being Me, Being You: Acting, Neuroscience & the Audience, addresses the chemistry between an audience and performer and the chemistry between performers themselves.
NY Theatre Workshop casting director Jack Doulin and Scott Freeman will co-moderate a special panel featuring two-time Tony Award winner Judith Ivey (The Heiress, Hurlyburly) and two-time Tony Award nominee Jayne Houdyshell (Follies,Well) March 2 at 2 PM. The panel will mark the third in a series called "Acting Aloud," discussing the ideas, values and techniques of theatre professionals.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
