The Hurly Burly Show to Return to the West End in July
07 Jun 2012
The Hurly Burly Show, an all-singing, all-dancing revue headlined by Miss Polly Rae and featuring burlesque stars and speciality variety artists, is to return to the West End, beginning performances July 2 for a 12-week season through Sept. 22.
Originally seen at the Garrick Theatre for a limited season in 2011, the show is described in press materials as the first major burlesque-inspired musical spectacular to be staged in a West End theatre. It features covers and twisted mash-ups of pop hits from major artists including Kylie, Britney, Prince, Beyonce, Madonna, Lady Gaga and many more.
It is directed by William Baker, who has worked extensively with Kylie Minogue and has also worked as creative director to Rihanna, Leone Lewis and Westlife. He has also previously directed a "remixed" version of Rent in the West End in 2007.
The creative team also includes Wayne Cilento (Wicked, Tommy), Steve Anderson (musical direction), Ashley Wallen (choreography), Terry Ronald (vocal arrangements) and Nick Whitehouse (lighting).

Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
