Directed by Tony winner Doug Hughes, the production of the Norwegian classic about a town that cares more about money than the general welfare stars four-time Tony Award winner Boyd Gaines as Dr. Thomas Stockmann, who exposes poison in the town, with Richard Thomas as his money-minded mayor brother. Kathleen McNenny, Gaines' real-life wife, stands by her man as the doctor's loyal wife, who faces an angry mob.

When it ends its extended run, An Enemy of the People will have played 59 regular performances and 26 previews.

An Enemy of the People also features Maïté Alina (Broadway debut), Gerry Bamman ( The Merchant of Venice), McNenny ( Death of a Salesman), Randall Newsome ( Inherit the Wind), John Procaccino ( Blood and Gifts), Michael Siberry ( Mrs. Warren's Profession) and James Waterston ( Parents Evening). The ensemble also includes Mike Boland, Victoria Frings, Andrew Hovelson, John Robert Tillotson and Ray Virta.
