With the Broadway revival of Annie only a few "days away," Playbill.com surfed the web for our favorite performances of "Tomorrow," Annie's iconic first-act ballad written by composer Charles Strouse and lyricist Martin Charnin.
The musical, which opened on Broadway in 1977, starred Tony Award nominee Andrea McArdle in the title role. Since then, the show has been revived on Broadway in 1997, adapted into a feature film and television movie and will open again on Broadway later this fall.
Here are performances of "Tomorrow" from Broadway, television, film, concerts and more.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
