THE SCREENING ROOM: Bernadette Peters Sings On the Town's "New York, New York," "I Can Cook Too," "Lonely Town," "Some Other Time" and More
20 Jul 2013
Three-time Tony winner Bernadette Peters recently co-hosted her 15th Broadway Barks!, the dog and cat adoption event benefiting New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies that she co-founded with Mary Tyler Moore. We thought it a good time to celebrate one of Broadway's favorite leading ladies.
Bernadette Peters sings a medley from On the Town, including "New York, New York," "Lucky to Be Me," "I Can Cook Too," "Lonely Town," "Some Other Time."
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
