Jason Robert Brown's The Last Five Years, starring Adam Kantor and Betsy Wolfe, opens Off-Broadway April 2. In anticipation of the production's opening, Playbill.com looks back at Brown's career with songs from The Last Five Years, Parade, Songs for a New World and more.

Due to ticket demand, The Last Five Years has been extended through May 12 at Second Stage Theatre. Brown directs his semi-autobiographical work that stars Wolfe as struggling actress Cathy Hyatt, who falls in love with on-the-rise Jewish novelist Jamie Wellerstein, played by Kantor.

Brown is also the composer of 13 and contributed music to Broadway's Urban Cowboy, for which he was also the production's musical director and conductor.
