Lyricist Fred Ebb, whose collaboration with composer John Kander earned the duo three Tony Awards for their iconic musical theatre scores, would have celebrated his 85th birthday April 8, 2013. In honor of the theatrical legend, Playbill.com looks back at the music of Kander and Ebb.

Kander and Ebb received Tony Awards for the scores of Cabaret, Woman of the Year and Kiss of the Spider Woman and were Tony-nominated for their work on The Happy Time, Chicago, The Act, The Rink, Steel Pier, Curtains and The Scottsboro Boys.
