Tony Award winning-actor Hugh Jackman, last seen on Broadway in his solo show Back on Broadway, will celebrate his birthday Oct. 12. In honor of the Broadway favorite, Playbill.com looks back at Jackman's career.
Aside from his recent appearance on the Great White Way and a 2012 Tony Award for his contributions to the Broadway community, Jackman was awarded a Tony for his performance as Peter Allen in the 2003 musical The Boy From Oz. He has also hosted the Tony Awards ceremony numerous times and returned for a special duet with Neil Patrick Harris at the 2011 awards.
Jackman, who will star as Jean Valjean in the upcoming movie musical "Les Misérables," has also been seen on Broadway in A Steady Rain and starred in the West End production of Oklahoma! He is best known for his work in the "X-Men" film series.
Dinner with the Boys is the deliciously hilarious new comedy starring Dan Lauria (“The Wonder Years”, Lombardi), Ray Abruzzo (“The Sopranos”) and Richard Zavaglia (“Donnie Brasco”). When two wise guys from the old neighborhood, Charlie (Lauria) and Dom (Zavaglia), find themselves at odds with the family, they must serve up perfectly seasoned performances with their puttanesca to escape danger. This odd couple awaits their fate as they prepare dinner for their special guests. It’s an evening filled with belly laughs, killer plot twists and plenty of garlic. The only question remaining is “will this dinner be their last meal?"
