The Tony Award-winning Best Musical The Wiz opened on Broadway Jan. 5, 1975. In celebration of the musical, Playbill.com has put together our favorite performances of the show's iconic ballad, "Home."
The Wiz, which took home seven 1975 Tony Awards, starred Stephanie Mills in the role of Dorothy. The musical was later adapted into a 1978 feature film. A Broadway revival was produced in 1984, and an Encores! engagement ran in 2009. For more on The Wiz, visit the Playbill Vault.
Deaf West’s production of SPRING AWAKENING floored the critics when it premiered in California, prompting the Los Angeles Times to write, "It's hard to enumerate all the ways in which Deaf West's SPRING AWAKENING is so very, very good." Now this unapologetically brilliant new production is coming to New York.
