The Tony Award-winning 1985 musical mystery The Mystery of Edwin Drood has returned to Broadway in a new production under the wings of the Roundabout Theatre Company at Studio 54.

Drood begins previews Oct. 19 towards a Nov. 13 opening. The current cast counts Stephanie J. Block, Chita Rivera and Will Chase among its stars. Rupert Holmes (Curtains, Say Goodnight Gracie, The Nutty Professor, "Remember WENN") wrote the book, music and lyrics.

The whodunit musical allows audiences to take part in the action with a choose-your-own-adventure style ending where they vote on which character murders Drood. Holmes has penned multiple endings, confessional songs and plot twists for Drood, to create a new ending each night.

The original production starred Betty Buckley, Cleo Laine, Howard McGillin and more. has put together a handful of Drood videos, including the new commercial for the Broadway production, a look at the commercial for the 1985 original, and a pop version of Holmes' "Don't Quit While You're Ahead."
