Understudies from the 2013 Tony-winning revival of Pippin, the Off-Broadway musical Bare, Newsies and The Lion King stood in the spotlight at Half Hour 3 June 2 at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. Here are highlights from the evening.

Performers at the concert included Justin Gregory Lopez (Bare), Gabriel Croom (The Lion King), Derrick Davis (The Lion King), Mike Faist (Newsies), Sabrina Harper (Pippin), Liana Hunt (Newsies), Adam Kaplan (Newsies), Sara Kapner (Bare), Alice Lee (Bare), Tommy Martinez (Newsies), Bethany Moore (Pippin), Molly Tynes (Pippin), Alan DeMont Wiggins (The Lion King) and Alexander Sage Oyen, among others.

According to press notes, " has once again invited some of Broadway's most talented understudies to the stage of the Laurie Beechman Theatre to share their rare talent—the ability to perform at a second's notice. They'll be thrown into the fire in Half Hour 3: A Last Minute Concert, a show where even they don't know what they'll be singing before they step up to the microphone. The audience will get to vote on what song each performer will sing."

The concert was produced by Shoshana Feinstein with musical direction by Benjamin Rauhala. Videography is by Karen Marshall.

Feinstein and Marshall started as a way to aggregate and celebrate the performances of Broadway's most under-appreciated talent: the understudy.
