In the second episode of Playbill Video's exclusive series "Life with Laura," Tony Award winner Laura Benanti dressed as her favorite leading lady, Fosca from the Stephen Sondheim musical Passion, and took to Times Square. Watch Benanti as she asks tourists to take their picture with Fosca, hang out with other Times Square characters and hit TKTS.
A 2008 Tony winner for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical, Benanti is always on the move. Whether she is working on Broadway (Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Gypsy), television (The Sound of Music Live!,"Go On," "Royal Pains"), City Center Encores! (the upcoming 2014 production of The Most Happy Fella) or recording multiple studio, cast and live performance albums, she never lets up.
Dinner with the Boys is the deliciously hilarious new comedy starring Dan Lauria (“The Wonder Years”, Lombardi), Ray Abruzzo (“The Sopranos”) and Richard Zavaglia (“Donnie Brasco”). When two wise guys from the old neighborhood, Charlie (Lauria) and Dom (Zavaglia), find themselves at odds with the family, they must serve up perfectly seasoned performances with their puttanesca to escape danger. This odd couple awaits their fate as they prepare dinner for their special guests. It’s an evening filled with belly laughs, killer plot twists and plenty of garlic. The only question remaining is “will this dinner be their last meal?"
