Colm Wilkinson, the Tony Award-nominated original star of Les Misérables, who recently joined the Toronto company of that musical for a special charity performance on Jan. 11, offered a special version of "Bring Him Home" with star Ramin Karimloo.
The special performance on Jan. 11 benefited five charities, including Casey House, Covenant House, Ernestine's, The Franciscan Missionary Sisters for Africa and Theatre 20.
Wilkinson, who originated the role of Jean Valjean, played the Bishop, a role he also played in the Oscar-winning film adaptation.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
