For over 25 years, Darlene Love, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer who has appeared on Broadway as Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray, as well as in Grease, Carrie and Leader of the Pack, has stopped by "The Late Show With David Letterman" to perform the 1963 holiday doo-wop song "Christmas Baby Please Come Home."
For many late-night viewers, the annual performance signifies the arrival of the holiday season. Playbill.com has collected many of Love's performances from throughout the years, which include surprises by Santa, snow and more.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
