Joshua Henry received a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance as Flick in the Broadway premiere of Violet.

Henry made his Broadway debut in In the Heights. He has also performed in American Idiot and Porgy and Bess and received his first Tony nomination for his work in The Scottsboro Boys. Henry first played the role of Flick in college, directed by the original Off-Broadway Flick, Michael McElroy.

"This score has stayed with me for a very long time," Henry told Playbill.com. "I first discovered it when I was 18 years old. And being able to sing a song like 'Let It Sing' again has so much more meaning for me now that I'm a little bit older."
