The Queen's Diamond Jubilee, celebrating the 60th year of Queen Elizabeth II's reign, was recently held in Buckingham Palace. Here are highlights from the celebration, including a tribute from West End's War Horse and performances from Sir Elton John, among others.
As previously reported, ABC will broadcast "Concert for The Queen: A Diamond Jubilee Celebration," which also features performances from Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Tom Jones, Annie Lennox, Kylie Minogue, Stevie Wonder and Jessie J. Andrew Lloyd Webber and Gary Barlow composed the Queen's Diamond Jubilee song, which is simply titled "Sing."
On the television special, which airs June 5 at 9 PM ET, Katie Couric will also take viewers backstage for a unique view of the festivities, including interviews with the concert's biggest stars. The ABC broadcast is a special edition of "20/20."
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
