Broadway Gets GLAAD, a concert to benefit GLAAD, the leading organization in support of a positive LGBT image in the entertainment industry, was held Aug. 4 at Joe's Pub. Here are highlights from the evening.

The 7:30 PM event featured songwriter Scott Alan, Mia Gentile (Forbidden Broadway), indie-rock band Great Caesar, Sean Green Jr. (NYMF's Trailblazers, Grassroots), Marja Harmon (The Book of Mormon), Megan McGinnis (Little Women, Thoroughly Modern Millie), Ciara Renée (Pippin, Big Fish), Jessica Vosk (The Bridges of Madison County), Jacob Keith Watson (Violet), Natalie Weiss (Everyday Rapture) and Ari McKay Wilford (Once).

Hosted by Julia Mattison (Godspell), the evening promised "Broadway favorites, new material, and contemporary pop songs."

GLAAD, according to press notes, "works with print, broadcast and online news sources to bring people powerful stories from the LGBT community that build support for equality. GLAAD serves as the communications epicenter of the LGBT movement, equipping advocacy leaders with the tools they need to communicate more effectively. GLAAD is also reinventing the way social media moves equality forward."

Broadway Gets GLAAD: A Benefit Concert was produced by Kayla Greenspan and August Laska with music direction by Mark Galinovsky. Videography is by Dylan Bustamante.
