Broadway actor Will Chase, who was seen in the first season of NBC's "Smash," is keeping busy. Before he stars in Roundabout Theatre Company's The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Chase will assume the role of Jimmy Winter in Nice Work If You Can Get It while Matthew Broderick is on vacation. Here is a look at the performer on stage and screen.
Chase, who will step into Broadway's Nice Work Aug. 21-26, has also been seen on Broadway in The Story of My Life, Billy Elliot: The Musical, High Fidelity, Lennon, The Full Monty, Aida, Rent and Miss Saigon. On "Smash," he played the role of actor Michael Swift.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
