JUNE 2, 2011: Julie Taymor—the original director of Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark, who was ousted by the producers in March—resurfaced to say she was owed at least six months' pay. Laura Penn, the executive director of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, speaking for Taymor, said the director was paid only $125,000 five years ago, and was owed between $200,000 and $300,000, a figure that did not include her royalties as a co-author of the musical.
