Theater for the New City's production of Andy Halliday’s Nothing But Trash, a satire of 1950’s teen-angst films and gay pulp fiction, officially opens March 9 at 3 PM following previews that began March 6.

Performances at Theater for the New City’s Community Space Theater (155 First Avenue) continue through March 23.

Directed by G.R. Johnson, the cast features Tim Burke, Andrew Glaszek, Halliday, John Kevin Jones, Rory Max Kaplan, Tim McGarrigal, David Errigo, Jr., Jeffrey Vause and Steven Wenslawski.

"What happens when two beautiful teenage boys meet under the hot summer sun?" press notes ask. "Nothing good. In Nothing But Trash, the year is 1958 and Tab (McGarrigal) and Troy (Kaplan) are on the fast track to madness when their innocent love is destroyed by lies. Wrongly accused of a heinous crime, the boys must escape the horror of juvenile hall, or risk losing their sanity. And their lives!"

The production also has scenic design by Jonathan Collins, lighting design by Joseph Thompson, costume design by Gail Baldoni, sound design by Jacob Subotnick, prop design by Bryan Prywes, choreography by Greg Zane and Jim Cooney and wig and makeup design by Dave Bova. The dialect coach is Melissa Kollwitz.

Regular-priced $20 tickets are on sale at SmartTix.com or by calling (212) 868-4444. Subject to availability, Pay-What-You-Can tickets are available at the box office only for Tuesday evening performances.
